With the Paediatric Trail forming an important part of the Occupational Therapy Show taking place on 23/24 November this year, healthcare specialists Sidhil will be participating in this action-packed programme of product demonstrations and learning events to exhibit their latest products dedicated to improvements in paediatric care.
This is the first time Sidhil has exhibited at the show, bringing an important new range of products developed especially for this sector of the healthcare market. On show for the first time will be the Bradshaw Junior bed, designed to fill the existing gap in the market for nursing care beds designed expressly for paediatric use.
Most current paediatric bed solutions are simply adult options with padding systems. Developed around the specific challenges of paediatric nursing and accommodating younger patients safely and comfortably in a hospital, nursing or community environment, the Bradshaw Junior represents a purpose-designed choice. This completely new product retains all the operational and clinical benefits of its bigger cousin, Sidhil’s established Bradshaw nursing care bed.
To match the more domestic requirements of the paediatric environment, Sidhil has designed in a bright and colourful appearance for the bed, together with specially designed full padding sets using child friendly materials and featuring an attractive jungle scene.
These aesthetic considerations are designed to complement the operational benefits. Constructed in compliance with IEC 60601-2-52:2009, the Bradshaw Junior bed features a fully profiling mattress platform with a variable height range from 280mm to 710mm (to top of mattress platform) to facilitate most nursing procedures, together with a variable tilt and knee break.
This profiling action enables the backrest and kneebreak sections to operate in harmony to reduce pinching in the sacral area, reducing shear and friction. To keep smaller occupants safe, the bed features full length integral and adjustable wooden siderails.
The Bradshaw Junior bed measures a compact 200cm in length and 90cms in width and is also suitable for small adults, with a generous maximum user weight of 180kg (28 stone) designed to cater safely for parents sitting or lying on the bed and wishing to cradle children in their arms.
OTs can already acquire the Bradshaw Junior bed off contract as a ‘special’, which requires a separate quote and involvement of purchasing teams to procure. To speed up the process, Sidhil is already working closely with Equipment Review Groups around the UK to have the Bradshaw Junior bed specified for relevant catalogues, which will enable OTs to order the beds direct from loan stores. End users wishing to purchase the beds can do so directly through one of Sidhil’s distributor partners, located across the UK.
Alongside other established paediatric products such as the award-winning Inspiration Cot, Sidhil will also be demonstrating their new Solite Pro bed, which now incorporates a redesigned four section profile offering improved alignment with the human anatomical structure.
Added functionality and new safety features guarantee total compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, together with new integral full length side rails conforming to all gapping requirements and featuring a unique central ‘step down’ profile for easier ingress and egress.
