Preparing for the CQC Inspection


As an established Regulatory and Compliance business, Inspection Ready Healthcare (IRH) is frequently asked the question regarding useful resources to support providers, especially information in relation to CQC Inspections.  Whilst information provided by the CQC is readily accessible via their website, it lacks clear guidance for providers and staff on how to prepare for inspection and the key questions staff may be asked during an inspection.

In order to try and bridge this gap, IRH has produced a booklet that is a useful ‘easy to read’ guide for Providers and their staff on how to prepare for an inspection.  The booklet (available as a digital download) includes top tips about the types of questions likely to be asked during any CQC inspection.

The booklet will help you to understand the CQC’s approach to inspections, tell you what’s expected during inspection, and suggests how to prepare for a visit from the CQC in your ward, service or service department.  It also provides you with contacts for further support and where to get further information.

The booklet articulates our common purpose, strategic vision and values and ‘Getting it Right’ for every service user, every time.  It includes key tips on how services can prepare for the inspection, what to do when the CQC arrive and how to interact with the inspection team. It describes in detail what to do if an inspector asks to talk to you, if they ask for additional information or want to access care records, and if the inspection team pick up on an issue.

This will not only assist you in preparing for a CQC inspection but also give best practice points for life beyond the CQC visit and business as usual.

The booklet contains 20 pages offering guidance to staff for the 5 CQC domains, including:
