Silk Healthcare has appointed a new catering manager, Andrew Ford. The four care homes run by Silk Healthcare always strive to create new and exciting meals suitable for all its residents and Andrew Ford has been looking at the menus to make sure residents are enjoying healthy homemade dishes.
Andrew is a chef by trade and has worked all over the UK working alongside some amazing chefs in high profile establishments. He also achieved many accolades for food, hospitality and service whilst running his own pub, restaurant and outside catering business. In addition to this he was the AA Senior Hotel and Restaurant Inspector for the UK and Channel Islands.
Bringing over 20 years hotel and hospitality sector experience, Andrew is now ensuring residents at Silk Healthcare homes receive wholesome, nutritional and flavoursome meals. A balanced and varied diet is an essential part of their greater well being and in addition to this the menu includes some of their old favourites.
Andrew said “Mealtimes are often a focus for social engagement as they can be a real highlight of a resident’s day, working closely with the kitchen brigade we feel we can add to their quality of life. We only use fresh whole ingredients and cook all the meals from scratch to ensure that the food not only tastes good but fulfils the nutritional needs.”
