Live-in care provider celebrates 3rd birthday with local care event

0

Lancashire-based live-in care provider, Promedica24, celebrated their 3rd birthday this month following the launch of their highly commended service in 2016.

To mark the birthday, Promedica24 sponsored a community care event with a number of leading health and social care organisations based around the North West.

The session provided the live-in care team with the opportunity to celebrate alongside like-minded partner organisations from the local area, passionate about making a difference to those requiring legal, financial and care related advice.

During the event, the organisations shared ideas, focussing on how they can work together to achieve a brighter future for those that require care. With many individuals not knowing what choices and services are accessible to them, a ‘one stop shop’ of services can help make sense of care jargon.

On the birthday, Gary Derbyshire, Regional Partner for Promedica24 North Yorkshire & Lancashire commented; “We all work so hard to deliver the absolute best for our clients and are thrilled to be celebrating our third anniversary. Seeing families benefitting from our service makes all the hard work all the worthwhile.

“Good advice is essential to ensure those looking for care can find funding, are protected legally and have access to support in the way they want, whether in their own home or in a care home.

“After working in large companies that have links to elderly social care for over 20 years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that moving into social care can have on an elderly person. The lack of control over their own life can make them feel vulnerable at a time when they most need reassurance. With many people living alone or having family living far away, it’s important that they can access dignified care while remaining in their comfort of their own home.”

He continued; “The event was a great opportunity for us to not only celebrate our achievements, but to meet other people in the sector who are based in the local area. It was fantastic to reinforce our aim: to raise awareness of care and service options within the local community.”

Gary Derbyshire is one of 10,000 volunteer Dementia Friends Champions across the UK, is a Silver Line Telephone Friend and regularly volunteers for other organisations in the community.

Promedica24 provides live-in care, as an alternative to residential care, allowing those with care needs to remain in the comfort of their own home.
