A new development in Bournemouth is set to open and will provide supported living accommodation for over ten individuals in the area.Supported living scheme

The Campbell Road development in Boscombe, Rowan Court, is the result of a joint project between developers Specialised Supported Housing, Inclusion Housing and care provider Lifeways. The scheme consists of 13 one-bedroom properties, which incorporates a coach house, to support adults with learning disabilities and autism.

The properties have been fitted with adaptations and technology that will support individuals to live independently, but with the support of care staff on site 24 hours a day.

Specialised Supported Housing’s vision is to build exceptional housing for people with complex care requirements, and this is their fourth completed development.

Grant Livingston, founder of Specialised Supported Housing, commented: “Having grown up with a brother who had a learning disability, I saw first-hand the impact that a lack of support can have on a person and realised the huge gap in the market.

“Our vision at Specialised Supported Housing has always been to provide individuals with a supported living environment where they can be part of a community and this Bournemouth development was our opportunity to do just that.”

Tom Falconer, project manager at Lifeways Group, added: “Working in partnership has always been our vision and we are thrilled to be part of finding a solution to meet the needs of local people wanting to move on to greater independence.

“The design, layout and adaptations to these properties has been carefully planned and Rowan Court will provide very high quality accommodation, in the heart of the community.”
