In 2014 Care Roadshows brought a host of suppliers with the latest products and services specifically for the care sector to six regions across the UK. The events not only allowed care professionals to talk face to face with providers and source products to help their businesses flourish, the shows also offered informative seminar sessions from industry leaders giving the latest ideas and updates from across the sector.
Representatives from the CQC, the National Care Association and the DSDC were just some of the speakers visitors were able to hear from. With presentations covering a variety of topics including how to make a care environment Dementia friendly, achieving excellence in Social Care and understanding and preparing for the Care Bill, there was a subject to interest everyone.
Each of the events also offered interactive workshops for visitors to join in with and take ideas away. Oomph, whose name stands for Our Organisation Makes People Happy, ran some fun filled exercise therapy workshops at several of the events where visitors were encouraged to grab some pom-poms and see how gentle chair exercise can be used to help promote a better quality of life for older people and provided entertainment for everyone involved.
Care Roadshows are back in 2015 with some new locations planned to reach more care professionals throughout the UK. Starting with a return visit to Glasgow’s Hampden Park Stadium in April, the events will also be returning to Leeds and Liverpool before visiting three new locations of Birmingham, Cardiff and Epsom Downs just outside of London.
